Visual novel fans have been abuzz about The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.- An impressive list of genre veterans head up the game, with it being written and directed by the creator of Danganronpa, Kazutaka Kodaka, and the creator of Zero Escape, Kotaro Uchikoshi. Originally teased in 2018 as Limit X Despair, it’s been a long seven year wait, but for once, I will not make you wait until the end of this review to tell you what you’ve already been waiting long enough to know: this game is good. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is closing out the week with a new demo on Nintendo Switch. By visiting the Nintendo eShop page, it can be downloaded now in both North America and Europe.
The demo introduces players to the Last Defense Academy and various characters, covering the first seven days of the 100-day story. Save data can be used in the full version.

During a live stream event today, Marvelous revealed that Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is receiving a Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin collaboration.
Not much about the partnership was confirmed. However, a quick look was shown with a video during that live stream. The collaboration makes sense given the similar settings and how they’re both under the Marvelous brand.

January 14: Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma now has a release date. As reported by Famitsu, the game launches on May 30, 2025.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma was previously teased with a Project Dragon subtitle before the final name was shared last summer. Last we heard, it was planned for this spring, which Marvelous is sticking with.

After a previous Nintendo eShop launch, Freedom Planet 2 is now going physical on Nintendo Switch. Limited Run Games will be handling this one.
Freedom Planet 2 will be sold standalone as well as through a Classic Edition. If you buy the latter, you’ll also get pins of all four heroines, a double-sided poster, and a CD soundtrack, all in a deluxe plastic case.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy was just given a release date, news about a limited edition, and more.
The game launches on April 24, 2025. XSEED is now confirmed to be publishing, and plans to ship a limited edition. The limited edition includes an art book featuring work from fan-favorite artists Rui Komatsuzaki and Shimadoriru, a CD soundtrack with 10 songs from the game’s original score, an acrylic diorama featuring the main cast, a metal Last Defense Academy pin, a lenticular art card, a printed copy of an original The Hundred Line short novel, and 15 character art cards.
